hotsync with PDesk probs

I seem to be having intermittent ability to hotsync with PDesk.  I'm
running Progect 0.29 and PDesk 0.8.4 on Windows XP and a TE.  

When I first synced, outlines I'd created on Progect went to Pdesk.

Then I modified one project on PDesk, synced, and it seems like all
changes on PDesk were lost, and handheld overwrote PDesk.  

I tried creating a new project on Pdesk, it did not appear on handheld.

I tried creating project by same name on handheld, but after several
syncs the data from PDesk is not transferring to this project on the
handheld. 

After spending some time reading here and at Sourceforge, I'm honestly
confused about the current state of hotsyncing ability between PDesk
and   
Progect.  As far as I can tell, at one point we needed to copy the
backups to the respecive program, but now hotsync should work.

Apologies if this is clearly covered somewhere.  If so, please  refer
me to the correct thread or site.
