That is scary then, I had always though it was something with the projects 
that caused the sync problems.

Although, as I said, an empty project _will_ hang the sync.

The projects are backed up, I can't remember exactly where, probably your 
backup directory, but it keeps the last three versions AFAIK.

Well, when I do the new conduit, we will have more choices.

Currently it can save to XML correctly, but it was losing some information 
when going from XML to the PDB.

I should have that going correctly in a week or two.

Then I need to write XSLT to go from people's favourite editors to the 
Progect XML and back again.

There is something wrong with the conduit code.

But I have never been able to reproduce the issue, so I can't fix it.

Certainly I have had it destroy a project, but I have never been able to 
find a way to reliably cause a problem.

Of course, if you had a hang, and nothing changed, then perhaps it's 
caused by an unitialized variable. I will try and look at the code again 
at some point to make sure that should not be a problem.
