Desktop sync trouble

Hello all,

I recently dragged out and dusted off my copy of Shadow Plan with the
intention of migrating over my Memos and ToDo items. Well, I've run
into a couple issues. I looked around for a bug tracker like
sourceforge.net/tracker2 or bugs.launchpad.net but couldn't find one.
(Maybe bug tracking sites are just for open source software, I don't
know.)

So what's going on is that I installed the Windows Desktop version on
XP SP3 and the handheld version on my Treo 650. I imported all my
ToDos and cleaned them up a bit, then imported a couple Memos. I also
installed the ShadP-ShadowTips.pdb to take a look at it sometime in
the future.

Soon after synchronizing and attempting to edit one of the imported
Memos, I discovered a problem in the Desktop: I opened the Memo and
got an error something to the effect of "line was too long" (sorry I
didn't write down the error word for word, but it mentioned a
limitation in the handheld version for item title lengths) at which
point an item title was truncated. It didn't tell me what item, so I
compared the lengthy list with the one in Shadow Plan on the handheld.
I found the item on the handheld version to be fully intact which
said to me that the handheld limitation existed no longer and the
Desktop software hadn't been updated to reflect that.

So, I decided to junk using the Desktop until I could get on here or a
bug tracker and report the issue. In the meantime, I would use the
Desktop as a backup. Well, wouldn't you know, when I went into
Hotsync | Custom... to configure the Shadow conduit to "Copy handheld
file over desktop" I forgot to mark "Set as default". Doh!

I didn't notice until it was too late, of course, so when I sync'd the
second time after that, something strange happened that may or may not
be related to what I've described so far. The files didn't
synchronize, as was the default setting. The Memo I'd imported and
had these problems with just disappeared from the handheld altogether,
along with ShadowTips. Upon opening the Desktop, I found them both
still there. I set the conduit to Synchronize & "Keep items from both
sides" but cannot get my Memo back on the handheld. It continues to
be available in the Desktop.

I did some searching here for someone else with a similar issue, but
without a better set of keywords to search for than "pdb", "xml",
"desktop", "handheld", "sync", etc., I got too many results. Sorry
for the lengthy post and thanks for listening.
