	In the end.. if you want to get the memo onto the handheld, try 
the set-to-be-uploaded-next-sync flag, there should be an option in the 
menu bar or pulldown menus. The upload-request flag is only set by the 
desktop when a file is created, and files are normally synced. If the file 
is only on the desktop through 'some other means', then it'll stay there 
(ie: In case you only want in there.) So you use this request flag to 
inform the sync system "no, really, I want you to upload it to the 
handheld and start syncing in the future."
