1. If you check the web page (www.palmyanoff.com), it's pretty clear that New Yanoff is a usenet news reader, and anyone familiar with GPL Yanoff would know that as well. It's unfortunate that RSS readers are being referred to as news readers, which clearly is confusing a lot of folks. 2. Interesting about secure logins. Right now I'm using my ISPs NNTP service, but from time to time, I'll use either Easy News or Usenet and neither require SSL. If this is going to be a trend (requiring SSL), I wonder how many newsreaders will get broken? 3. FWIW, $24 is in line with what the PPC news readers sell for ($18 for the cheapest, $25 for the other three I'm aware of). New Yanoff has no real competition on the Palm side, but I think the $24 price is quite reasonable. Gregg puts a lot of work into the program and has really developed a superior product. Plus you can always use Yanoff- which is free. 4. Hi-Res and Landscape modes already exist in V3.0. I'll let Gregg address the SSL and VFS issues, although I believe he's working on both.
