Hi,

New guy, here...

I've looked back in this group, but havn't found anything.

Is anybody working on the conduit?

I've an idea for it, that I would love to see implemented. (Sadly) I
only program in Delphi and php - starting on java is not in my plans
:-).

What I want is basicly a way to remove excessive quoting in messages.
Basicly I want the conduit to remove the oldest quotes from messages
that are larger than max messages size, until the maximum message size
is reached. Today the messages is simply truncated if it's bigger than
max messages size.

I'm subscribing to rec.arts.sf.written, which get about 500 messages a
day, I've about 1mb of free memory in my palm Vx (dictionary and
star-map, taking up the rest). That gives me about two days woth of
messages if I set the max size to 1kb.

But all to often, that gives me a lot of messages containing only old
quoted messages and not the actual contents of the message. Very annoying!

If anybody is up for implementing this, I'll happily provide more
detailed pseudo code...

Yours
TC
