Hmm, well if you can get it on OE, then it's either usenet  or email (POP3)
based messages.  Have you tried and use the same setup as OE?  What server name
do you put in there?  The server name may give a hint as to the type of service
it is: if it's something like mail.xxx.edu then it's mail; if it's
news.xxx.edu, then it's probably usenet nntp based.

If its nntp then you can use yanoff with the proper setup.  If mail, then you
can use versamail to get the messages.

On second thought, it could require SSL.  Don't think Yanoff supports SSL yet.

Thanks for the notes, yes I think you are right.  I
tried the following suggestions and all I got was
"read errors()" messages.

These are on a acadaffairs.wintu.edu server that
requires user id and password... I access the
newsgroups from OE express... multiple newsgroups.

Tried to test the server and got the above error
message.

Tried to poll ng, using the above server, got, "cannot
open raw internet socket!"

I will assume I need to go to the 700w (which I don't
want to!!) and use OE on that device :(
