Message ID

Is there anywhere that I can edit the "format" of the message ID that
Yanoff creates?  The reason I ask is that back in my "PC" nntp reader
I have a filter that flags messages that are obvious "replies" to
messages I've posted by looking at the reference field.  My current
reader puts both "gemini" (the name of the reader) and my email
address as part of the message ID, so it's easy.  Looks like Yanoff
just lets the server create the message ID.

Any ideas?  For example, is there some kind of a "wildcard" that can
be used in a custom header for the message ID field?
