Thank you for your reply
Obviously, I did not give up after the first unsuccessful download and gave 
Simpad several opportunities to accept an image 0.8/0.8.1. Unfortunately, 
Simpad refused to cooperate. I am wondering whether the bootloader checks 
what it downloads. Are there any smaller test programs around that can be 
used to check the download mechanism ?
