Attached my own install ntes (whenever I install something I take
notes) base on yours. Usually I put everything I do on my machines in
a .txt file - including what I remove and what I install [btw 3.5.2
feed is missing - you have to add that]

I saw some very interesting websites about dual and triple boot using
bootldr on an ipaq. Basically, you just say which part of the wince
image is loaded into which part of the ram.

IMHO, if we knew which modifications had been applied to the CE image,
that should be possible (supposing the CE image contains a mix of
specific instructions to load something at some place in the RAM,
followed by what to load)

May I suggest to put these files online when the new install
instructions will be official? Could help those who want to revert to
ce.

BTW folks - Sandisk "128 Mb + WIFI" compact flash card is now working
on linux. This means you get /dev/hda1 128Mb *AND* eth0 wifi in a
single card - a good use for the Simpad PCMCIA slot.=20

It's now in the CVS. Only a little bug is left for concurrent IDE/Wifi
access IIRC due to pcmcia stuff.

################################# FLASHING ###################################

0- Put both your simpad and your laptop (if you are flashing from a
laptop) on AC Power, to prevent irreversible damages on failed flash.
Connect your simpad to your laptop using a serial cable, and download on
your PC:

1- Flash the bootloaders:
Start minicom with settings : 38400 8N1, hardware flow control
Type : serload blupdater.img 0
Press : reset on the back of the simpad
Then see what's happening in minicom. Wait until the process is finished.
Restart minicom with settings : 115200 8N1, no hardware flow control

Now do either 2 or 2bis

2- Flash the image:
Rename opie-image-simpad-20041201014448.rootfs.jffs2 to
simpad-rootfs.jffs2, put in on a vfat formatted compact flash that you
put in the simpad

2bis- Manual installation
If you want to install the image by hand, type something on minicom
until you get boot> prompt, before step 2

Manual CF installation:
boot> copy hda1:/simpad-rootfs.jffs2 root

if that fails try: (but the copy command usually mounts CF
automatically)
boot> pcmcia insert 0
boot> vfat mount /
boot> copy hda1:/simpad-rootfs.jffs2 root

Manual serial installation:
boot> load root
then upload  rootfs via ymodem

3- Reboot
Wait until the image is flashed
Type in minicom at boot> prompt: reboot
