DTR/RTS support in the serial driver?

(sorry for those who got this on opensimpad.org, I realized that 
simpad-general was maybe more appropriate)

Hello,
I noticed that, when the simpad opens a connection on the serial port, 
the DTR (data terminal ready) pin is always low. Some peripherals use 
this to detect that a terminal is on the line, and I would like to use 
it to power my Palm Portable Keyboard (yes, very soon we might have a 
very cheap and comfortable keyboard for the simpad!).
unfortunately, arch/arm/mach-sa1100/simpad.c in the openembedded kernel 
doesn't seem to support it, although I found another version of this 
file <http://externe.net/zaurus/simpad-bluetooth/simpad.c> which _seems_ 
to support it (but I didn't try it, and it seems to be modified for a 
128M simpad). Is there a chance that DTR/RTS supports comes into the 
mainstream OE kernel one of these days?
