Hi, I finally tried the 2.6 kernel from OpenEmbedded. It seems to boot, but PCMCIA doesn't seem to work properly (kernel panic...). I managed to boot GPE and run applications, but the experience stopped here. I was wondering if someone (Mickey?) could give a list of what's left to do in that 2.6 kernel, maybe with some indications for volunteer workers (where should I look, should I port this from the 2.4 kernel, from the Zaurus 2.6 kernel, or write it from scratch?)... A good idea would be to have this on a Wiki (probably OE's Wiki, since opensimpad.org's future is undefined). I'll try again 2.4 for mainstream use (I think a simpad-2.4.conf machine configuration file in OE would be great for that. I did one by just changing the kernel and adding a PREFERRED_version for orinoco modules - I'll change tslib config by hand but this could be done automatically too). fred ------------------------------------------------------- SF.Net email is Sponsored by the Better Software Conference & EXPO September 19-22, 2005 * San Francisco, CA * Development Lifecycle Practices Agile & Plan-Driven Development * Managing Projects & Teams * Testing & QA Security * Process Improvement & Measurement * http://www.sqe.com/bsce5sf
