RE: Dying Batteries, suggestions needed

Sadly, LiIon batteries have a limited life, whether
you use the darn things or not, which is why people
buy new pda's and have the battery last less than a
year. (me for instance) The unit might have been
produced a couple of years ago. The pda might be new,
as in never used, but the battery in it isn't anymore!

 I am not sure that you can recondition one short of
rebuilding the pack with fresh cells. 

Batterymart.com sells a replacement battery for the TT
for $52.70US plus shipping. It is a 950mah battery
with the part number PDA-12LI. Replacing a battery in
TT is a bit of a chore because you have to take the
slide mechanism apart to get to the inside of the
device.

This is where many Pocket PC (*gasp*) devices have a
little advantage over most Palms. The batteries are
easily replaced so you can have one charging and one
being used. Swapping is a simple as slipping the
depleted battery out and sliding in a new one with no
loss of data. Larger capacity batteries are also
available (I am thinking of Dell's in particular here)

All the suggestions here have been good ones, travel
charger, car charger etc. There are also some tips for
conserving what battery power there is in a charge.
Turn off beam receive and Bluetooth and try to keep
your use of either to a minimum. 

Try to use the reflective screen in the TT without the
backlight on if possible. Sitting with a window behind
you is a good way to use the reflective qualities of
the screen. Actually an overcast day works far better
than a sunny day. There is a lot more light from
clouds than from a clear blue sky. This works well on
transflective screens too. Try it out. Some
fluorescent lights work particulary well too.
