Slightly less quick but less misleading answer: With the standard VFS/FAT32 file system in these devices, you're limited to 2GB. There's an unofficial patch around which can increase this limit to 4GB (basically doubles sector size from 128k to 256k, I assume) The patch doesn't work on all devices, so check that out before buying that 4GB card!
