t5 or tx? (or, pride goeth before a fall)

i own a T3, and was looking to upgrade. after advice from some people
over in the Tungsten 3 group, i decided to stick with the T3 and then
get either a wi-fi card or a new phone.

i settled on the phone, and two weeks ago i received a t-mobile sda as
a gift, and have been very happy - and it links easily with the T3.
the combination was working great, i felt really smart, and all was
well with the world.....

....until my T3 took a hard fall this morning onto a floor from four
feet up. screen cracked. much as i loved the T3 (it was my 2nd - got a
refurbished one after cracking a screen a while back), it's time to
move on (for warranty reasons, if nothing else). and i'm already going
through withdrawal!

so - either the T5 or the TX. any opinions? i don't need the wi-fi at
all, so the TX doesn't matter to me in that way. my primary concerns
are smoothness of transition of programs from the T3 and battery life
(anything that's longer than the T3 would be better). and it's
essential that i be able to run Datebk 6 (the beta) on the new machine.

i hope to buy SOMETHING this evening, so any quick advice ASAP would
be much appreciated!

p.s. at least this time around i had the sense to have a regular
backup program running - everything was backed up onto an SD card
about 40 minutes before i smashed the screen, so i should be in good
shape.
