IDE Questions

Greetings...
I am new to Java and Linux. I am trying to set up a development environment that will let me program an application for PersonalJava and also WInCE. Hoping to get some help getting started.
My application will be GUI based touch screen data capture to data base with sync either directly to web DB or thru PC connected to web.

Is there an example app somewhere that implements this and could be used as a starting point?

Considering price, functionality, and ease of programming....

1. Is Ewe a good way to go? Is the cross platform capability useful?

2. Is LwVCL a good GUI to use instead of AWT? Does it justify the $495 license?

3. What is the best IDE to use to create GUI application that will run on Zaurus and other platforms? RealJ, ..

4. Are the extended capabilities of Build-It, Simplicity ... worth the price of admission? Can Simplicity create Zaurus apps?

5. What is the best Java compatible DBMS to use?   HSQLDB,  SQLite....
