Hi everybody, I'm having a weird problem with my app. I need to run it from a shell script in order to set an environment variable, so my .desktop file in /home/QtPalmtop/apps/Applications contains the line "Exec=myapp.sh", and the shell script (in /home/QtPalmtop/bin) looks like this: export MY_VAR="important environment variable" myapp exit What happens is: I run the app, and exit normally. I then tap the icon to run it again. This time, however, the app does not run, but its icon appears in the taskbar and will remain there, whatever I do, until I reset Qtopia. Things appear to work as normal at this point, with the following exceptions: - if I start my app, or click on its taskbar icon, it launches, but a second icon appears in the taskbar. - if I start any other app, upon exiting it, my app will immediately launch again. I have done a few experiments and found that this behaviour will occur for any app (e.g. sysinfo, addressbook) that is started through a shell script in this way. It happens on the SL-A300 as well as the SL-5500. I have also discovered that the system passes two parameters to the script, "-qcop /tmp/qcop-msg-myapp.sh", but forwarding those on to the app itself makes no difference, whether or not I trim off the ".sh" (i.e. "myapp -qcop /tmp/qcop-msg-myapp"). As you can probably tell, I'm pretty new to Zaurus development. Is there anyone out there who can guess what's going on here, or has had the same problem? -- Russell Clarke Picsel Technologies Ltd ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by: OSDN - Tired of that same old cell phone?
