postinst/prerm problem

Hi guys,

I am building a .ipk package for the Z, using a postinst script
to create a symbolic link and a prerm script to remove this link.

I was stunned to see that each time I installed the package on my
SD card using the "Add/Remove Software" application, the link was
not created.

After some tracking, I found out that the link was indeed
created, but that prerm was called just after postinst during the
install, removing the link as a side effect.

Are you familiar with that problem? Do you know why the problem
doesn't arise when installing on RAM, and only with the
"Add/Remove Software" application? And why the prerm script is
executed _at all_ during the install?
