ctrl key on on-screen keyboard does not work, AFAICT never did.
On the hardware keyboard, 'fn' c, x and v *only* generate
'crtl-' c, x and v. (venerable copy, cut, paste...) For most
other ctrl-chars you can activate BOTH [left shift] AND [fn]
before pressing the letter key to generate the ctrl-char.
(For instance ctrl-o when you use pico).
