Is the To Do list set to 'Fast Load'? If so, it'll have the data in
memory, and not bother looking at the XML file. When you shut down,
it did probably just overwrite it. ("Whoops, time to quit! Save data!" :) )
Tap-and-hold the To Do icon in the application tab and uncheck "Fast Load."
THEN upload the XML file, and try launching To Do again. (You'll notice
it'll probably take a little more time to come up than usual.) Voila!
Now you can re-check "Fast Load" and all will be well.
