On my SL-5000D running the equivalent to the 3.x ROM for the SL-5500,
which is pretty much the same as the stock ROM for the SL-5600,
which I ASSUME is more-or-less what's running on the SL-C7xx series...
(WHEW!)
... I have three tabs at the top of the 'Day' Calendar view.
One is a clock, the other is a little blue sheet of paper with what looks
like bullet items, and the third is two little yellow documents.
The default is the 'clock' tab, which shows all hours, and puts the
events in there as you would on a day calendar. From "00:00" through "23:00".
00:00
...
08:00 [ Vattar meeting >*< ] ('bell' icon for alarm)
09:00 [ (House Ag.) () ] ('recycle' icon for repeat)
10:00
...
17:00 [ LUGOD meeting >*< ]
18:00 [ (Davis Library) () ]
19:00 [ Start: 17:00 ]
20:00 [ End: 23:00 ]
21:00 [ ]
...
The second one is what it sounds like you want. It simply lists the
items in the order they occur, with no 'blank space' between them.
Simply:
[Alarm][Time ][Description ][Location ]
>*<() 08:00-10:00 Vattar meeting House Ag.
>*<() 17:00-23:00 LUGOD meeting Davis L...
Similarly in Week view, you can get to the "Blue Bullet-list Paper" tab,
and it shows you all events in this list form:
05 Sun
06 Mon
07 Tue >*< () 08:00-10:00 Vatar meeting
>*< () 17:00-23:00 LUGOD
08 Wed
09 Thu
10 Fri

Crap! I swear I've seen To-Do's in the Calendar, but I don't know how to
make them appear.
Hrm... I wonder if this IS the same application.
You keep calling your's "Datebook", whereas mine is labelled "Calendar"
(as it always has in all ROMs since the original SL-5000D pre-release)...

Someone REALLY needs to clone DateBook5 for the Zaurus. This is, like,
the NUMBER ONE complaint I've seen. It appears as though the folk(s) who
wrote DateBook5 have outdone EVERYONE else. :^)

My Zaurus seems to be running 'busybox' version 0.60.4 (2002.10.26...)
I'm not sure if a newer version has color ls disabled by default, or
whether any version can have an option set on the command line ("ls" usage
doesn't show any) or in a config file (perhaps /home/etc/busybox.conf ??)
to turn it off.
It looks like it CAN be disabled at compile-time, so maybe someone'd be
willing to release an .ipk of BusyBox with this disabled...?
Good luck!
