Java Questions:

I personally use GEL (it is an excellent free IDE)... and already did some
interesting excercises with it, including a SAMBA config/ on / off graphical
tool for my zaurii..

u must use java sdk 1.2.2 (not a newer one) and your interface options are
quite basic... search around for it (google will give you all the specs you
need)

Subject: [Zaurus-general] USB pocket drives and Java Questions

| Is there any way to get a USB pocket drive (also called a keychain drive)
working with a Zaurus SL-5600?
|
| Also... could someone post a detailed walk-thru on programming with Java
ON the Zaurus? What tools do you need? Is there a good (free/not free)
Integrated Development Environment (IDE) or editor that works best? Any
compilers that need to be loaded? Any issues with programming in Java
related to licensing and so forth?
|
| I have programmed with free tools/languages before and there were no
restrictions as to what I could do with what I produced. However, I have
also programmed with non-free personal editions of some tools/languages
(like C++ builder) that put restrictions on redistribrution (ie having to
pay for a developer version and/or distribution licenses). I am new to Java
and just wanted to know the state of things.
|
| The whole shebang...
|
| A tall order, I know, but I have some spare time and would like to develop
some tools for myself and possibly the community. I figured the whole 3G
wireless boom and the explosion of hotspots couple with the Jeode
environment might make it interesting to get into some J2ME programming.
|
| Thoughts?
|
| Thanks
