Just making sure but should the above be IPADDR=192.168.129.1 for your
desktop ifcfg-usb0 file?  Other wise it would make sense that you are
seeing your own desktop since you are looping back to your own
interface.  The Z should be x.x.x.201 and the desktop something like
x.x.x.1.
