Well, I used rpm2tgz to create a Slackware package of one of the .rpms of Qtopiadesktop (forget which package). It's working so far. I mean, I can call up the app but I still have to see if I can get my Zaurus to talk to it. If anyone uses Slackware and needs to use Qtopiadesktop, just use rpm2tgz to create your .tgz package. I've no idea if any of those package formats can be used with FreeBSD. I can see why they wouldn't allow their source (ala Nvidia, ATI) but if they don't allow source they should at least provide their products in a proper package (one for each major distribution), IMO. > > They act like their product is gold or something, so valuable that they call all the shots...limited package formats, no source. I guess I can keep ssh'ing or FTPing into my Zaurus to back it up or attempt to rsync. I just don't see how they can cater to the Linux masses with just Suse, RH, and Mac packaging (doh...MacOS is remotely related to the BSDs...I guess I could give that a shot). > > Ron @ > http://www.unixfool.com > > On Thu, 13 Nov 2003 09:40:23 -0500 > "Reuben D.
