Not silly at all, Tim.  It's amazing how often I have a customer with a 
"faulty" printer, where the power switch has mysteriously moved itself 
to the off position!

YES, & even reformatted it as FAT16 under Windoze.

YES.  Tried copying files to CF under Linux (RH9) & WinXP - No difference.

YES, & it's the proper Sharp PSU.



The way that it does its flashing LED nonsense, even when re-installing 
2.39, makes me suspect that something is wrong with the firmware that 
does the actual updating.  However, I thought that installing a Sharp 
OSPACK overwrote the loader.

I think I'll buy another CF card, & see if that makes any difference.
