Windows has this annoying habit of remembering it on a window by 
window basis and when you go through any kind of transition from one 
to the other it is a little bit painful (like when the support droids 
want to use your computer to fix something).  Usually if you set your 
default and reboot it's all fine once you log in the next time 
around, but I can still understand issues, particularly if you're 
using stupid programs (and there are usually no shortage of those).
