I have a Blick (maybe two) in my attic here in Tokyo. I always liked the Blick. In the 1970s I visited a typewriter museum (since closed) in England established by a guy called Beeching. He showed me and a Japanese girl around, and seemed to have them all -- except an electric Blick. He was offering 1000 pounds for one, big bucks in them days; they are rare machines. Beeching kindly autographed my copy of his typewriter book. He didn't fit my image of a museum curator. He was dynamic and enthusiastic. He typed on an IBM, in those far-off pre-PC days, and had one of those office chairs with arms that could be snapped off to the side to free up elbow space for the typing.
