There are a lot of subtle differences with keyboards vs. typewriters,
and modern technology. Our keyboards are flatter--not on a steep
incline--and the keys are easier to hit. 

We also use different keys now i.e. we use a colon a lot more these days
due to URLs, and Dvorak never had to take Control, Alt, Command, Windows
button, up page down page, etc. So there are bound to be some different
applications.

With keypads, it begs the question of why to have the numbers optimized.
I believe the official ANSI Dvorak layout uses the traditional
1234567890. And that really works fine

Some time ago I stated using the original Dvorak layout for fun (and
because I don't really use the imbedded Keypad on my Kineses contoured.
7 is in the first column ("A" on the home row). It works for me. My
favorite part of using the original number layout is that the "@" symbol
(shift 2) is now hit with my right index finger.
