Shift key being constantly depressed on a DataHand even though it is not

I am having some weird things happening with my datahand
it seems like the shift key is constantly being held down even though it
is not so i have to use caps lock to type like this
also i select stuff when i click with the cursor as if the key is being
held down
the dvorak z (qwerty /) changed to /

Hmm...now it's better. But it keeps switching! Why?

Actually, the z is still /.
