Have you looked into the Smart Board? It has a two handed layout that is very unique to say the least. For one a bit of history. The guy who did most of the original research on the split keyboard was a man named Ullman. His research showed among other things that a having the letters of the different rows directly above one another made typing much easier. That is the way it is done on the smart board and on the kinesis and maltron layouts. The smart board costs only $99.00 though and is probably the best truly ergonmic keyboard out there in terms of price. All of the other keyboards retain the totally useless left to right setbacks designed for mecanical typewriters. This left to right setback can cause injury in the left hand as it is counter to the design of the hand and its natural movements. That is why the keys on the smart board fan out like a peacocks blume as your fingers do as you move them upward away from the home row. For my money this is the best keyboard out there even though I have a kinesis advantage usb Qwerty Dvorak. The main reason that I do not own a smart board is because they stopped making them in black. While comfort is crucial: "my duty was always to beauty."
