I tried Dvorak for a few months, around 1996. Using QWERTY I have timed myself at 60-90 wpm. Using the Dvorak layout, I never made it past 30 or 35. Then I started working at a customer's office, where I didn't feel that I should change things. Finally, I was making too many mistakes and felt like I was wasting too much time trying to adjust back and forth. I want to keep up with what's available -- not only different layouts but different physical keyboards. That's why I read 'altkeyboards'. But this post summarizes why the Dvorak layout doesn't work for me: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/altkeyboards/message/3512 Steven --- In [email protected], "mailorderspam" <mailorderspam@...> wrote: > I may have to abandon Dvorak and just go QWERTY again to gain speed > and accuracy in QWERTY, but I hate to do that.
