I just checked out your blog post. I agree with your sentiments.
Change needs to happen. The framework for change needs to happen.

But it doesn't need to force people who right now function OK to change in
to the new way, but rather to lay the proper foundation work for change to
occur, as time and people continue onward. Of course that proper direction
would in some ways affect current people, but mostly in the way of education
and being flexible toward others.

Knowledge is what's largely missing right now, I think. Most people I talk
to about my "strange keyboard" see its value. They just don't justify a
trade-off to integrating to their lives. That's OK. Let's just stop pushing
it on the next gen. Let them see the value either way and choose what's
best.
