Hello, I do not know what GMAT or GRE are, but i remember having read this question before. Here it is: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/altkeyboards/message/3496 The answer is hard wired keyboard. Shutdown, unplug, plug again, voila. Better, http://mindprod.com/bgloss/dsk.html#GETSOFT http://mindprod.com/products4.html#DVORAK This is about a small Terminate and Stay Resident TSR Programm for Dos, called dvorak.com. It will make that whatever you type in the command line will be switched. You can run it without admin rights and later copy and paste with the mouse to the actual programm... But if you can not get to the command prompt... take a laptop, copy with the usb stick and copy back... [i compiled the german dvorak II driver with this base and works fine] Carry the file with your USB-disk, if no usb, but internet.. than per mail to yourself.. but if internet, there is a page, that translates your typing into dvorak online, http://blite.iki.fi/lab/alternative-keyboard-layouts/dvorak ... typing there and copy/paste. or maybe it is possible to dowload the application. also probably, remapping... with keytweak (have not tried) http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file/fid,23203-order,1-page,1/description.html or some other remapping programm and then take with you the remapping files and use them for that session. Also try the layout changer as given in dvzine.org http://dvzine.org/type/m$.html That seems very interesting. In any case better, speak with the bosses, or the admin at the place you have to take the test. Good luck, Cristian from http://conitzer.de/index.html?/dvorak/ --- In [email protected], "nathansmithgoestowashington" <mrsmithgoestowashington@...> wrote: > > I use the dvorak keyboard. I did not learn QWERTY. I am looking to go to grad school soon and have found that the GMAT and maybe the GRE will not allow me to change the keyboard settings to dvorak during the test. Since there are essays on the tests, and I am required to use one of their computers to take the tests, this puts me at a disadvantage. I was wondering if any of you have heard anything about this since you are a proponents of the dvorak keyboard and I see that some of you may have had issues with this in the past. I told the GMAT people that all I needed to do was change one setting but they still refused my request. I do not want to learn QWERTY just so that I can take a test. If any of you know of anyone that can help me with this issue I would greatly appreciate it. > > Thank you, >
