I have a compiled tree sitting around here which obviously
successfully compiled the crt files for ata5272:

j@uriah 65% ls -l avr/lib/avr25/ata5272/
total 166
-rw-r--r-- 1 j staff 21026 12 Aug 14:29 Makefile
-rw-r--r-- 1 j staff 2591 11 Aug 23:43 Makefile.am
-rw-r--r-- 1 j staff 21584 11 Aug 23:43 Makefile.in
-rw-r--r-- 2 j staff 7528 12 Aug 14:30 crta5272.o
-rw-r--r-- 2 j staff 7528 12 Aug 14:30 gcrt1.o
-rw-r--r-- 1 j staff 8320 12 Aug 14:30 libcrt.a

Compiler used was a 4.10 snapshot. So it ought to be possible
to compile avr-libc for it.
