Hmm, AVaRICE is IMHO GPL'ed, but as the only requirement for you is to
offer your customers where to find the source code for it, plus any
possible modifications you needed to do to AVaRICE itself.  If you
embed AVaRICE as a standalone process into a complete environment, I
don't see how this would make your environment a derived work in the
sense of the GPL (albeit the remainder of your work might be just that
anyway, if you base it on Linux).
