Is the accelerometer small enough to enclose in plastic foam, together
with a heater and temperature sensor, to maintain constant temperature?
This is done with quartz crystals, for frequency stability. (They have
even been soldered to a power transistor tab, with the transistor acting
both as heater and temperature sensor.)

If the temperature remains constant within, say, half a degree, would
that do?

Hey, you wouldn't need anything else for collision detection either!
(What happens to positional accuracy after a collision, I wonder?)
