Mac OS X and AVR programming

I was wondering if there is anybody out there that is using Mac OS X to do
AVR programming. I was planning on using gcc-avr, but I was not sure if
there was a better way to do it. If anybody has any knowledge of how to do
this, and can offer any advice I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.
