Yes, I just works. No tweaking necessary.

Not very far. This is what the Linux kernel says when connecting a
programed 90s2313 to the USB pins:

My idea is to provide a easy-to-use C-API to Igor's asm code.
But this would make the .hex file bigger => no longer fits in a '2313 :-(

This means a Mega8 would be the smallest target for the avrusb project...
