Looking at the signal quality is always a good thing.
If you USB interface allows it, you should at least check what the two error
counters are telling, and if that does not work,
take an oscilloscope to check signal quality like differential voltage and
slope of the signal edges.
If the signal is OK, look at more system or software related things.
