Hi Peter, as mentioned by Heikki, objects 0x1021 and 0x1022 can be used for that purpose. The format of the stored file can also be user specific (e.g. zipped) by using values > 80h for the format type (0x1022). We are offering this feature in our CANopen I/O modules and the stack for some time, but I believe most of the CANopen tools in the market simply ignore it. If you have the feeling that the objects need some enhancement, pls. let me know, since we are in the process to update the existing CANopen specification CiA 301.
