Layer 2 - Layer 3 bağlantı ?

Backbone switchler arasında L3 bağlantı, backbone switchlere bağlı olan client switchler arasında L2 bağlantı olan bir yapıda, Backbone-Client yapısını da L3 olarak değiştirmenin bana getirebileceği fayda ve zararlar var mıdır, varsa nedir ?
