Congrats Jerry! I started around the same time you did.

Wow. Names from the past! Not familiar with Scott LaChecki, but Mel and Charlie! I remember Mel "hosting" the News3x/400 (News/34/36?) BBS back in the mid-80s. I went down a little rabbit hole and found Mel at http://www.becknet.com/

Enjoy your retirement!

Subject: Retired

After 1 month shy of 43 years in the IBM world it's time for some new adventures.

There are MANY people to thank for a successful career.

My first mentors were Mel Beckman, Scott LaChecki and Charlie Massloglia.

There have been what I consider hundreds of others. Impossible to name them all. So many from COMMON.

The main ones that come into mind are Scott Klement, Jon Paris and Susan Gantner and the many speakers from COMMON. remember bringing home many boxes of handouts?

I don't want this to drone on like an awards ceremony acceptance speech.

I really want to thank the IBMi community on this site for your tolerance and support in my continued learning experience.

Trying to figure out what's next is exciting and scary but just like an IT career, I'll figure it out.

Thank you all!!
Jerry Forss
