timezone per user support

What is the state of the art nowadays regarding IBMi support for use cases like (on the same LPAR) like:
1) users in different timezones connecting to the same "program and tables" (program layer reasons in UTC and db stores say UTC and then views like displays get localized according to - say - a per user or per group TZ settings
2) users in different timezones connecting to the same programs but different data tables reasoning with the same TZ

For 1) I'm thinking about user case like users connecting to the same data and same data ERP for 2) users connected to the same ERP logic but totally different tenant and data (i.e. different LIBL)

Is there some support from the system (say exit programs or MI interception that intercepts calls regarding date and time) or is still full roll your own?
