While I agree, that's not a reality for most shops. I wrote my eRPG books over 25 years ago, CGIDEV2 and the e-RPG SDK came out then later Websphere, etc. Until the current guard retires and a younger crowd takes over, most aren't interested in anything "new". (I said most, not all...) I think the midrange group literally defined "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." The issue I'm finding is that the old guard often spends no more than a week or two with the new hires before retiring which makes supporting software for them challenging to say the least. So, it seems we're just replacing one problem with another, I guess. The good thing is I'm only seeing a handful of customers leaving the platform. Maybe 10%.
