Hi,
  I have had similar problems with repeating keypresses that was caused by the 
lircd-uinput.service running. The default configuration for lircd-uinput does 
not define a key-off comand so the keypress is repeated. 
For my MythTv setup I disabled the lircd-uinput.service.
