It took me quite some time to understand what you want to achieve... You 
want to take the "electric" IR signal from Lirc and feed it into the 
HDMI switch with a wire, thus bypassing the IR transmission.

Here: https://github.com/z3t0/Arduino-IRremote/issues/494 that issue was 
raised in the context of the Arduino IRremote. There is some good advice 
there, in particular inversion and opto couplers.

You should turn off modulation in lirc by the line

FREQUENCY  0

in lircd.conf. Do nut fumble with TOGGLE_BIT.
