my mail what is worse with a svn-git setup from some days ago was
unanswered.
Yes, SF SVN is still down, but that can happen with any GIT/Mercurial/SVN
server. And if one has a local "git svn" repo, the downtime doesn't
happer ongoing work, only exchange with others.

SF offer:
- a definite official repo
- mailing list, bug tracker etc.
- a nice web page for the project
- a file repo

I would miss those things a github

Again: You can have your repo as SVN and locally work with GIT. Did you try
that? Did you see anthing nagative?  About git-svn, I only heared from you
"worst of both worlds" with no hard facts.

Again: Is there any reason to move away from SF? Beside the need for setup
and care, we loose the points above.
