learning assembler

Hello,

I'm running into trouble trying to get the 16f88 ADC working. I found 
code examples in assembler, so as mentioned on this list, it might be a 
wise idea to get a little more undertstanding of assembler before I 
continue mucking about in the dark. But ( besides the datasheets) is 
there some real tutorial document out there somewhere that introduces me 
to the concepts of writing assembler?
