I wasn't trying to start one because they never change anyones mind on
either side!

My point is the advantage I see in using open-source gputils over
closed-source MPASM when trying to do something a little out of the
ordinary.  Open source lets us work out what is going to happen and have
confidence that we can predict what the tools are going to do when used
in "novel ways".
