RE: want an sdcc howto?

I have Ubuntu (based on Debian) and I think SDCC on Ubuntu is 
not working for PIC when I last tried. I did not make it work
even after reading the two document BAJ mentioned. Anyway I 
am still experimenting Linux to develop for PIC.

BTW, the people here tend to send replies to the poster AND to the
list. Some people will get really frustrated to receive every
message two times. To avoid this, I need to manually delete 
the names other than the list. I think it is more appropriate to 
send the reply to the list only.

What's wrong with the binary packaging on Debian ?  I took a look at
the Debian BTS and it doesn't list anything that looks like a report
about botched packaging.
